So Monday was day four of Orientation. The LAST day of Orientation. And that day was filled with more meetings and the typical orientation stuff. Even though our orientation is like WAY too long.. But It means, that I am finally able to get into the kitchen and do things other than listen to Deans and Instructors talk about the school and their policies! YAY!
I apologize for all the non-interesting things happening now. It's been a lot of meetings about safety and policies and all that.. And I am so glad I've met the people I have! I promised my friends, I would give them a shout-out. So here it is:) I have been hanging and eating with the following people: Kelsey, Paige, Oscar, Tyler, Karla, Bryanna, Patrick and Mike. And I've hung out with Sang and Steve. Love my new friends here at the CIA!
(In case you are wondering what these friends of mine look like.. You will have to wait and see. I'll post pictures of them in due time.)

And now to food, the reason I am here. Just a little background information, we are on our own to find food on the weekends. The kitchens are not open during those times. But on Sunday, one of the residence halls were selling tacos! They were chicken tacos with pico de gallo and crema, on a homemade tortilla. They were pretty good.

But back to Monday! Monday, for lunch I had Poached Salmon with BĂ©arnaise Sauce with Roasted Tomatoes and Parsley Potatoes. It was just delicious. I can't even.. It was fantastic!
And for dessert, I had a Mixed Berry Pie with a Whipped Topping.
And now comes dinner. I had Roasted Chicken with Pan Gravy and Pureed Potatoes and Broccoli and Glazed Beets. And that was pretty good, the chickens seasoning could have been better but the Glazed Beets were definitely my favorite. And Mixed Greens with a Citrus Poppy Seed Vinaigrette. And a Pureed Lentil Soup.
And dessert was quite large. I always eat way too much dessert, but I have to try them all! haha I had a Raspberry Butterscotch Tart with a Raspberry Macaroon. Chocolate Tart with a White Chocolate Garnish. Lemon Meringue Pie. A Pear Tart. A Grapefruit Tart. A Vanilla Creme Tart with a Grapefruit Topping with a Mint Glaze. A Chocolate Brownie. A Chocolate Banana Tart. (Which I did in fact drip ALL over my chef jacket.. I think it was my punishment from having 10 desserts...) And two different kinds of Apple Pies. One was one of the best Apple Pie's I have ever eaten and then other one was so full of Cloves and other spices.. It was a little overwhelming.. (I forgot to take a picture of the Apple Pies..)
