So today was day two of Orientation. It wasn't so bad, although it was pretty boring. So it started with breakfast, which was optional, and I missed it. And then it was time for more student meetings.. It was a lot of boring talks about campus and about our education. Also about learning disabilities and tutoring.. And Q&A's with current students. Then it was lunch, FINALLY. And then the best part. (Notice the sarcasm?) SAFETY SEMINARS! These little things were typical college things, that we must all go through, unfortunately. Nothing really to elaborate more on. Unless you want a FULL lesson of fire safety, the tutoring program and all that jazz. I can tell you this. The CIA is extremely STRICT. Like for real though. I'll give you some examples.
Let's see. We cannot miss ANY classes. If we miss class, it's an automatic letter drop. And we miss another, again a letter drop. And the third class is an F in the class. And that means we must pay to take the class all over again. And that is not cheap. What else.. Well I can't think all that well at the moment, I'm exhausted. But just a little scoop on how strict it is here, which is not a bad thing, it's what makes us such a great school. There are a lot more things, but like I said, can't think..
We are now going to go back to lunch. Lunch we went to a different place and it was well worth it. We went to a kitchen downstairs, forget what kitchen number it was, but it doesn't matter. I had Cod Cakes (Like Crab Cakes but with Cod.) which was wrapped in Bacon. And the Cod Cakes came with a little Cole Slaw, Green Beans and Chips. A Green Bean Salad with a Vinaigrette. And this Clam Soup (it was a Tomato based soup? With was it Cabbage and herbs? Just a guess from the tastes.) And for dessert: An Apple Tart with Whipped Cream. I know what you're thinking, "that was JUST lunch?!" Yes, it was JUST lunch. Want to see some pictures? Alright, if you insist.

As I was walking from the Rec. Center to the Library.. And this was my view.. |
I know what you're thinking.. "Damn, he gets to eat this all the time?" And now to dinner. I decided to go with some Asian food. I had Lamb Kabobs with a Cucumber Onion Cilantro Salad and some kind of bread like thing, I didn't know what it was, but it was DELICIOUS! And a Spring Roll and Potsticker. And a Rice Noodle thingy.. And Sweet and Sour Soup. And for desserts I had Creme Brûlée, a Chocolate Cake with a Coffee Frosting, and a Chocolate Banana Tart. And here that is:
Then after that meal. I waited awhile and then went to the Rec. Center with some friends. Our Rec. Center is crazy sweet! Wanna see? Okay..

Two racket ball courts. |

Huge workout room. |

Pool.
And a room of pool tables, ping pong tables and such. No photo for that.. Sorry:p
But at the Rec. Center I ran 1.2 miles. Did a few sets of planks and Russian twists. Then played some basketball and then did some pull-ups, sit-ups and push-ups. And then for some fun and played air hockey:) It was a fun day!! And now it's time for Day Three. And that means, it's KITCHEN TIME!! Super excited!
And so my journey continues.. |
